  • McClintock v DCA [2007] UKEAT 0223_07_3110 (31/10/07) Discrimination; Employment. A JP from the FPC had asked to be relieved from hearing cases in which children may be placed with single sex couples. When the court refused he made a complaint under the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003. Click for the EAT judgment.
  • R v P; R v Blackburn 2007] EWCA Crim 2290 (22/10/07) Criminal; 'Queen's Evidence'. The first occasion when the court has been required to address sections 71-75 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (SOCPA), pertaining to what is commonly known as 'Queen's Evidence'.

    06/11/07 (UK): Barry George Appeal - Evidence "Deeply Flawed". The Court of Appeal has ordered a retrial of Barry George following its grave doubts concerning the importance of gunshot residues.


    01/11/07 (UK): Call The Horse? A Moment Of Levity In The Fallon Trial. Many experts have had a clash or two with solicitors and barristers during court proceedings. However, they rarely bring moments of levity to the proceedings.


    29/10/07 (USA): Supreme Court To Review Exxon Damages The Supreme Court has agreed to decide on a review of the punitive damages awarded against Exxon Mobil in 1994 over the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
