Our Policy: We do not check expert witness qualifications as we believe that simply vetting paper qualifications does not work - and certainly does not automatically make for a good expert witness. However, we recognise that many site users look for some reassurance in this regard. Virtually all professionals have an accreditation or affiliation with a professional body, and if an expert witness has declared such membership, this is indicated on their profile together with a hyperlink direct to that organisation's website. We also impress upon our expert witnesses the importance of providing details of lawyer referees which appear in their profile. The referees may be contacted by the user directly, usually by telephone or email. In our experience there is nothing better than a personal recommendation from a fellow professional - this also ensures a degree of quality control.
